Class taught by guest artist Dan Ice, a printmaker from Poulsbo WA.

Lino printing otherwise known as lino cutting is viewed as a traditional printmaking method. When lino printing you cut a design into a block of linoleum, then ink the remaining surface with a brayer and print onto either paper or fabrics using a brayer.

In this two-day class, students will explore carving and printing a lino print, which is a very satisfying medium to carve. The printing process is easy and you will be amazed at how professional your prints look.

Students will design and carve their own 5" X 7" Lino Block for printing. We will make a one-color print that students can choose to embellish with paint, colored pencils, or pens if more color is desired.

Step by step instruction and all supplies provided.

Each student will get their own set of carving tools, a brayer, two 5" X 7" hard-backed lino printing blocks, a 10 pack of cards, black printing ink, and an additional variety of papers to print on.

The class will meet on Fridays, June 10th and June 17th from 4 pm to 630 pm, if a third date is needed to complete projects we would also meet on June 24th.

*Class size limited to 6 students if there is enough interest we can schedule more dates.
